[Interviewer]:
What's your definition of love?
[Charles Bukowski]:
Love… It's just there a little while, and then it burns away.
[Interviewer]
Really?
[Charles Bukowski]
Absolutely…
[Interviewer]
It burns away?
[Charles Bukowski]
Yes, quickly. It's just-- love is a fog that burns with the first daylight of reality.

Hopkins - about death

[Larry King]
Do you think about death?
[Anthony Hopkins]
Yeah, all the time. But I don’t dwell on it in a morbid way. I’m… I’m resigned-- no, I’m accepting that I’m preached an age now that, you know, could be any time, I hope I have many, many years ago. But I’m not scared of them, I’m not… This is all-- to me is a dream within a dream, to quote Edgar Allan Poe, it’s all a dream within a dream.
My favorite quote is:
“They are not long, the days of wine and roses: Out of a misty dream. Our path emerges for a while and then closes within a dream”
[Larry King]
I just can’t believe I’m not going to exist.
[Anthony Hopkins]
Oh, we don’t know, do we?
[Larry King]
Because I’m too curious.
[Anthony Hopkins]
Yeah… We are absorbed back into the elements, I guess.
[Larry King]
What do you think happens?
[Anthony Hopkins]
I don’t know, I think there’s a superior consciousness in all of us that we touch into sometimes.
I don’t know if I believe in anything, I mean I’ve dated… but I believe whatever that thing is that we talk about… for centuries… I think it’s just here within us. I mean things of-- remarkable things have happened in my life by… by just wishing or asking for something… for a bit of help as it can-- and I don’t believe, I’m not a-- I’m an agnostic, I guess. There’s anybody can help me, or whatever. And there’s something inside us that will respond I believe. I believe-- I really believe that… we have to make our lives, because life is tough. Have to… believe in the power of life.

[Interviewer]
You are happy sometimes too?
[Elena Tonra]
Sometimes, yeah. Sometimes I am. But in the sad moments that’s when the song inspiration becomes. Yeah… that’s when I write-- that’s why I write probably. It’s because those sad moments that allow me to… to write.
[Interviewer]
But you don’t feel like this all the time…
[Elena Tonra]
It depends…
[Elena Tonra]
But I just think it works well with everything. I think it… there is a definite fear of… of loneliness, a definite fear of leaving people or people leaving me or… you know. Whether is in… in life or in death or… you know. But I think it’s as well just the fear of when I die that… I will be left with… with no one.
